The Cambridge application has multiple critical deadlines. While the UCAS deadline is 15 October, registration for key admissions tests like ESAT, TMUA, and LNAT closes in mid-to-late September. Furthermore, the mandatory 'My Cambridge Application' must be submitted by 22 October. Missing any of these will invalidate your application.
Your 2026 Cambridge Timeline: A Month-by-Month Guide
April – May 2025: Research and Preparation
UCAS course search for 2026 entry goes live on 29 April. From 13 May, you can begin filling out your UCAS application, though you cannot submit it yet. This is the ideal time to start your research.
June – July 2025: Test Registration Begins
Key admissions test processes start. UCAT (Medicine) booking opens 17 June. Bursary and access arrangement applications for ESAT and TMUA open 24 June. UCAT testing begins 7 July.
August – September 2025: Critical Test Deadlines
This period is crucial for test registrations. LNAT (Law) registration opens 1 Aug. Deadlines are 15 Sept for LNAT registration, 19 Sept for UCAT registration, and 29 Sept for ESAT/TMUA registration. The final date to take the UCAT is 26 Sept.
October 2025: The Main Deadlines
A very busy month. Take your ESAT (9–10 Oct) or TMUA (13–14 Oct). The main UCAS application deadline is 6pm (UK time) on 15 October. Your My Cambridge Application is then due by 22 October.
November 2025: Written Work and Interview Calls
If required for your course, submit any written work to your college. Shortlisted candidates will begin to receive invitations for interviews throughout this month.
December 2025: Interviews
Most interviews take place in the first three weeks of December, with the core period running from 1–19 December. This is your key opportunity to demonstrate your academic potential.
January 2026: Decisions and Mature Applications
Colleges will inform you of their decision. Your application may also be placed in the Winter Pool. The application deadline for the Foundation Year and some mature courses is 14 January.
March – August 2026: Final Steps
Mature College applicants are interviewed in March/April. All students take their final school exams (A-levels, IB etc.) from May to June. Results are released in August, and places are confirmed.
